Here we are spending the holidays again here in Korea. It's about this time of year that we really miss friends and family back home!
the work and ministry here is still rigorous and rewarding. We're just glad it's wound down for a winter break. We just finished our first semseter this year after: doing a Christmas musical for the community, volunteering with Korean children and the disabled, emergency cleanup on the oil spill off the West Sea, final exams, and a heartfelt profession of faith by one of Scott's new High School students. Whew! We deserve a rest!
Dionne is enjoying a break from her university classes. She's upgrading her credential with online classes at the University of Oregon. She's doing an Asian studies program in anthropology. When she's in classes it's a wild ride, since they follow a 10-week quarter schedule doing all that they would normally do in a regular semester every 10 weeks. She's also been happy to join an international women's vocal ensemble, Varioso. They perform around here in the winter and spring, sometimes doing some travelling.
Jonah is enjoying the break also, while doing a little research for colleges and universities in the U.S. He's looking for a good school with a program in communications and an emphasis in photography or photojournalism. There are quite a few in Southern Cal, but also in D.C.... Next year is his senior year in high school. We are fighting shocked disbelief!
We hope all of our friends and family had a merry Christmas, and we're looking forward to a very blessed New Year for all of us. We thought you'd like some pictures...
